Based
on one of Shakespeare's most famous romance tragedies, Romeo and Juliet,
West Side Story takes place in the urban slums of New York. It begins
amidst the conflict between the Sharks, led by the suave Bernardo, and
the Jets, headed by the charismatic Riff. Transcending all differences,
however..., are Tony and Maria, who ignore the feud
between the two gangs as love becomes the only thing they live for. But,
as we all know, the star-crossed lovers are doomed when they first
meet. With classic and memorable songs such as "Tonight", "I Feel
Pretty", and "America", this is one theatre experience you won't want to
miss!
